Let's say that you could stay at home, earn enough money to live comfortably and have everything else delivered. Your home is cozy, you've got high speed internet. How often would you go outside?

At least once a day, if only just to go for a walk and stretch my legs

Well, I'd want to have fun outside of the internet, so... at least a few times a week. Unless I'm in a hermit mood.

Unless I was sick or the weather was really awful, every day, just to walk around, and if I had that much free time/money I’d probably spend a lot of time at the zoo and seeing plays and stuff.

I like going on walks, so I'd be out doing that.

That wouldn't feel fulfilling for me. That would feel too selfish. I want to help people and make a difference in the world. A little hard to do that being home all the time. Besides, I love being a lawyer.

That's a rather unintentionally damning implication about people who limited mobility and maybe can't leave their homes.

Not my intention at all. Sorry. I only meant for me. Doing what I do is how I personally feel like I can make a difference. Should have been more specific and made it clear I meant only for me.

No it isn't. Can't you read, or are you just looking to start drama. They specifically said "FOR ME".

I'm something of a homebody, but yes, I'd still go out. I visit an elderly relative every day to check in on her and see if she needs any errands done; and I do occasionally enjoy going out and spending time with other people.

That is very kind of you there are a lot of people who don't know consideration these days.

I'd still go out pretty often. I like walking and riding my bike and I love taking the train to neighboring cities on the weekend and just exploring on my own.

I'd still want to go out and about at least a couple times a day. Stretch my legs, feel the sun a bit. I'm not social, but I like going to brick and mortars as much as I can. It helps me spend less.

If I had the money for transportation I would probably leave the house. If I had to ride my bike or take the bus everywhere like I do now, I probably wouldn't leave much. I don't leave much now except for work and the grocery store. I don't think that's healthy, but that's my honest answer.

No. I get stir crazy. As much as I love my house, I need to get out of it. Besides, I like going out to restaurants and having drinks at my favorite wine bars, and I enjoy traveling as well. One of my very favorite things to do in this world is get an outdoor table at some charming place with good patio seating and an excellent wine list, have a couple glasses of wine and people-watch. I couldn't bear not ever being able to do that again!

Oh, every day, but only so far as my delightfully shaded and private veranda, where I could watch the birds at the bird feeders/fountain and listen to the breezes and such. Lots of trees, no neighbors. :D

If by 'out' you mean to a store or something, well...only when there was a movie i really wanted to see on the big screen.

count me in for another "every single damn day" because a five mile walk in the sunshine with a nice breeze, birds and insects singing, and other people's gardens to silently judge is exactly what I want out of life. hell I'll even go outside at night to watch the stars. and I'll go far, far out of my house to hike and canoe. oh and I would also actually shop in stores because sometimes I need to touch something, judge its size, etc before buying. I also prefer to pick out my own meat and produce by sight and smell.

so basically, your idea is actually terrible. at least for people who have the freedom to choose whether to never leave their house.

I don't like getting stuff delivered, so I'd go out a couple times a week to go grocery shopping, probably have dinner with family once or twice a month, and other than that never interact with other people, and it would be amazing. I don't like that whole "humans are social beings" thing. Not all of us. I just want to be left the hell alone for the most part.

Hell no, I can't even stand being stuck inside for a couple days at a time when I'm sick. I need to go outside and get some fresh air for at least half an hour a day.

Yes. I'd live like a cocoon.

Okay, maybe not. I'd probably go outside to do gardening and spend time with my pets. Outside of that, the idea of not having to interact with people outside the house sounds like a dream come true.

A lot, for the extremely petty reason that, assuming that if I have money for it, food tastes better at restaurants than being delivered.

Everything else aside, just that would be enough to get me to go out.

So probably anything more important than that (most things) would also get me to go outside.

At least every other day, I get stir crazy if I'm stuck at home too long.

Couple times a week, probably. Just because I can get everything delivered doesn't mean I don't enjoy the process of shopping, and I enjoy the big screen experience, although I watch (and will certainly continue to watch) more movies at home.

I'd also have to leave the house pretty regularly to see doctors/therapists.
