I'm okay with people being 5-10 minutes late a lot. I can work around that. I will happily lie and say the movie starts 15 minutes earlier than it really does.

I had a co-worker who was always 1-2 HOURS late (this was not the kind of job where you had to punch in, but where you go out alone or in small groups to work in the field, so he never faced any consequences but his co-workers ire). In retrospect, I wish I had had the wherewithal to kick up more of a fuss to our boss, instead of feeling like it was my job to work around the problem for the sake of just getting work done and only complaining to the co-worker, who clearly didn't feel he was doing anything wrong (the worst part). He would always say "It's okay! Everything is fine!" like I was making a big deal over nothing and act like everyone should be happy he was giving them an excuse to take a break while waiting for him. No, waiting two hours for you to pack for our work trip (which you had the whole weekend to do) is not taking a break. That's two hours I could have spent sleeping in, or finishing my own packing, or having a leisurely breakfast. You are, in fact, wasting my time in an extremely disrespectful way. Fortunately, I haven't worked with him in years, and have no intention of agreeing to do so again.
