Their relationship throughout the series, up until the end, was far from healthy... and the picture the OP used is kind of funny because that's when they were at their unhealthiest (one point, at least).

Which I agree, I am just amused because even some of the crazier Zuko/Katara shippers say it is the dark and angst and dysfunction that makes it so awesome, so for it to be held up as healthy is kind of bizarre.

That's just the thing for me... it not being a 'normal' relationship doesn't make it bad. To me at least, a relationship isn't defined by the fluff that everyone likes seeing, but the ability to overcome obstacles and arguments. While there is a dark and angsty element, they were able to overcome an extremely harsh betrayal complete with anger, hurt feelings, and pain on both sides. That ability to move on is what makes it seem healthy to me.

I disagree, but then again The Southern Raiders kind of reinforced my thoughts that a romance for them would be a bit unhealthy, and that if they did get to together it would be really hot and passionate but then fizzle and break really soon after. But this is based on how they tend to handle themselves and what they respond to.

But I also think Zuko and Katara work better as friends.

I don't know what fluff has to do with it. My primary ship in Avatar is not based on fluff and they had their own issues. I am not saying fluff is the epitome of healthy, just that I don't think Zuko and Katara are healthy.

Look I think it is fine that people like dysfunction, I can see how that is interesting, I just don't think that out of the WHOLE show Zuko and Katara are the healthiest, because they really aren't.
