Not really, but I'm pretty sure that's that "reasoning" that most women use to justify their continued support of her.

It makes me very sad that there are some women who use that as validation, some of which are former Hillary supporters. I mean, you can't get more intellectually dishonest than going from Hillary's policies to McCain-Palin's. Or, for that matter, going from Hillary's personality -- strong, determined, articulate -- to Palin's folksy "gawsh I guess I just don't get it cuz I'm a woman" attitude.

I can't fathom jumping from the Hillary train to the McPain train either, frankly. They're about as ideologically opposite as two politicians can get. I also don't understand how some women who claim to be so feminist and all about the advancement and empowerment of women can seriously get behind someone like Palin, who has an abysmal record when it comes to women's rights. Like, my brain breaks a little whenever I try to think about it.

Shoot, I'm pretty conservative. It's complicated, but on principle, yeah, I think abortion is sick and I think it's best to wait until marriage -- or at least a serious, long-term relationship -- to have sex with someone and all those other terrible opinions that I don't ever even talk about but somehow still I oppress you by THINKING them...

But I still think she's a scary psycho who will do nothing but hurt the women of this country with her ridiculously close-minded and backwards thinking and that she's, like someone else said, just a political Barbie doll.

Just because I don't hold the same beliefs card as the typical modern feminist doesn't mean I think this woman isn't JUST PLAIN WRONG.

I know of one person (a pre-marital sex having woman who loves her birth control, who ironically ended up in a shotgun marriage with a guy) who's going to most likely vote for the McCain/Palin ticket because Palin's a woman and because she's a conservative, and somehow being a conservative means that she's blindly going to vote Republican 24/7/365.

Well, from what I can tell, the Republican ticket is all about shotgun weddings :p

True! Maybe it was her way of showing inane support? And in all fairness, I do call the girl in question stuff like 'personal cautionary tale.' Still. The train of logic rolls down a depressing set of rails.
