Due South

I remember epic debates about Ray V versus Ray K, but as the fandom tended to take its cues from the quirky, passive-aggressive, ultra-polite Fraser, it rarely descended into wank. Still think this was one of the most interesting ways to bring in a new lead, but then I was Ray K all the way.

This is fucking adorable, and I love it.

I was never in the fandom but I definitely watched some of the show in syndication (I'm Canadian; I'm sure it was on CBC at random hours of the day and night). I mostly saw earlier episodes because that's what was showing. So I was so confused when someone tried to explain to me that Ray leaves and Fraser gets a new partner...who is also Ray. Lol! FWIW, I think I prefer Ray K as well, even though I've seen much less of him. For one, I think CKR is a better actor than that other guy. Also, I feel like I can take Ray K seriously in a way I can't take Ray V seriously.

ayrt

I watched a few episodes with David Marciano because I had liked him on Civil Wars (a show about divorce lawyers, where he played a bike messenger) and decided I liked him better in smaller doses. But when Callum Keith Rennie came on board, I was suddenly all in. I do think he's a good actor, but as Ray K, in particular, he was just fascinating to watch.
