My very favorite memory was my first Star Trek con in 95; I was 11 and my brother (then 14) was taking me along with him. Not only was it a really fun con in general (though it would seem super low-budget by today's standards), what set the tone was my brother and I excitedly marching up to the hotel entrance with our Starfleet uniforms on, all giddy--

And this guy comes out through the same door, in totally on-point TNG Klingon cosplay. He notices us, pulls out a legitimate d'k tahg and triggers the secondary blades, and laments "they won't let me in with this! This sucks!"

We of course were kind of stunned and said nothing, to which he put the dagger away and instead grabbed a bottle out of his bag. "You want some bloodwine?" SIR WE ARE CHILDREN

Omg, this is just the best. Cons used to be so much fun in that era! :)

Klingon cosplayers are just the best. They're so committed.
