I have had a number of ships become canon, and pretty much every time, TPTB do something to screw them up. Like I know I can still ship House/Cuddy, Booth/Bones, Mulder/Scully, etc, but I find that I tend to lose interest when the relationship is screwed up that much.

So I feel you!
