176. Is it just non-canon slash you don't like, or non-canon het as well? There's nothing weird about only liking canon pairings. Otherwise, yes, of course all fans of non-canon slash pairings are completely out of touch with reality and believe every canon pairing should be gay! And there are never hints towards non-canon slash pairings ("I like it when you say my name")! Ass.

I understand it perfectly. I was wondering why the poster singled out non-canon slash ships and said nothing about non-canon het.

Almost certainly because they mostly run into mostly slashers who run around "OMG! They looked at each other! It's so totally canon!!1!!!11!!!!" like delusional nutjobs.

There are plenty of het fans who do that about non-canon pairings as well, but in a lot of fandom circles, it's absolutely endemic among slash fans.

People declaring non-canon pairings canon annoys me too. But dude, I've seen a hell of a lot of het fans doing the same. The rabid Harmonians, for one--there are irritating fans everywhere, and yeah, some pairings draw them more than others. That doesn't mean all the fans are like that, and if you're* calling yourself more grounded in reality because you don't like a pairing? Then you're the one being an obnoxious fan.
