See, I'd get where you were coming from (eliding the insults and entitlement) if you had crack pairings in your sectret. But the pairings you did show? They're not just subtexty, but in some cases, the subtext is so obvious to be text.

Batman/Robin I? Take a look at any golden age Batman comic. Not to mention, Nightwing and Gothic Knights was written by an admitted shipper for a while.

Doctor/Master? Forget Ten/Simm (bleh, anyway), there's been subtext in that relationship since Delgado first appeared as the Master. Seven admitted 'there's always been a certain amount of attraction between us', and the two even got together in Curse of the Fatal Death (granted, as a canon het couple).

House/Wilson? A picture-perfect example of how to do subtext, and commented on repeatedly by the actors themselves.

Remus/Sirius? Hello, best-friends-as-former-lovers.

Picard/Data? Ok, that is wut. Picard/Q, otoh. John de Lancie, who played Q, has said in interviews that he played Q as being in love with Picard.

Oh, and Jack/Ianto? Not just not hot, but anti-hot. Possibly the only pairing I anti-ship, and not just because of the the rabid fangirls. If House/Wilson is a primer about how-to-do-subtext, Jack/Ianto is the perfect example of how not to do canon slash.

I don't get Remus/Sirius, actually. I think it's mostly 'cause they're both able to turn into canine things, 'cause Sirius was definitely closer with James and I'm sure Lily would just be factored out of the equation.

Yeah, I'm late, I know but I'm just going to point out that Remus/Sirius was all that popular until OotP, where they seemed to be living together. After movie version of Prisoner of Azkaban, which had deliberate homoerotic subtext (kinda -- the director said that he thought Remus was gay) came out the fandom just took off.

OP here (of the post, not the secret) and late myself, but Remus/Sirius is the only one of those couples mentioned I don't ship at least a little (well, not a member of the House fandom, but when I catch the odd rerun of House, I'm kinda amazed at how perfect the H/W subtext is). It was really popular when I was in the HP fandom (which I dropped out of well before book 6 came out), and I thought it deserved a bit of a defense. But yeah, I don't really get it, but plenty of people could tell you why they do, and it certainly isn't a crack pairing, even if it is a bit invalidated by later (books 6 and 7) canon.
