probably because when they're on, they're on. Seth's sense of humor can be scattershot but between genuinely clever ideas, quotable one-liners, and the overall fandom factor with the references, he basically hits fandom right where it lives. you can block out the dumb poop jokes because the next sketch is likely to be amazing and wrong.

also you can never go wrong with the sheer quality of actors he gets to come in and do voices, both cameos and full skits or characters.

That's a very good explanation!

I normally think poop jokes are stale and unfunny.

That said, the WHO POOP LAST sketch from the very first episode makes me laugh until I cry every time. And also "FEEL THE WRATH OF SKELETOR'S BREAKFAST BURRITO" like, I am a grown adult and those things shouldn't be funny to me, but they ARE.

The best thing I can say about Robot Chicken is that it actually makes fun of things. It’s not something like Family Guy that just mentions something’s existence and considers that a joke in and of itself.

I remember Robot Chicken when it first came out, could not stand it, because of that I don't think I'd be able to stand watching it now.

I liked the early seasons a lot, in spite of being the same as you about this type of humor usually. But it got old after a while and I stopped watching.

I've seen very little of it, but what I've seen (mostly the Star Wars stuff) is fucking hilarious.
