It's not quiiiiite what you're talking about, but if you haven't already seen it, for sure try American Vandal on Netflix. They absolutely NAIL those high schools stereotypes, it's hilarious, it's set in the contemporary era so you see how social media and cell phones play into the show - more season 2 than season 1, though. If you like true crime and/or documentaries even a little bit, you have to see it.
