Actually, that was me being nice.

I'm 42 myself, and I'm starting to hit this point. I would never in a million years tell a thirtysomething who's making a light joke about themselves that "ten years from now you'll be ~singing a different song~"; like, you call me mean-spirited?

Again, I'm sorry you're having a bad time of it. I'm sorry you're hurting. I understand your hurt. I understand your crisis. It sucks. It does! It 100% sucks. But your life isn't over.
