Writing thread

Because I have a question.

What’s your system for editing your writing?

Just re-reading and taking out what works, setting it aside in some note program, maybe adding it in somewhere else.

Leave it alone for a bit and then come back and read all of it at once to see if it makes sense.

The best way to edit, imo. You need to leave it for a few days in order to have a fresh viewpoint. Re-reading it right after you write it already puts you in the mindset of what you want to see, so it's very easy to miss things.

Yep, this is what I do.

I try to finish the scene I'm on and then reread it again and again, making little adjustments and revisions until I feel like it works.

Re-read (sometimes too much), and edit as I go.
Then have my bff/beta read and tell me if it's confusing or repetitive or boring or did i skip something and they're lost.

Then re-read again and probably edit AGAIN, though not massively or anything, just little tweaks.

When i get read all the way through without wanting to change anything/finding no misplaced commas or whatever, I post.
