105) Oh I don't know, I think everyone should spend at least a summer in a horrible dead end office job as a rite of passage to kick the fairy dust out your eyes. But you don't have to stay there. You are young, and now you've had a taste of what's out there -- now start looking for the career you want.

113) I love yaoi myself, but honestly the canon stuff bores me to tears. I suppose it shouldn't be a surprise to me, cookie cutter het romance has bored me stiff for ages, there's no reason cookie cutter yaoi shouldn't be the same.

122) I don't think you understand the point of 'cest fics -- which is pretty normal since it's something that squicks you. Suffice it to say, people don't write incest because they can't write or don't appreciate the bond between siblings or that they want to boink their own siblings. They write it because it's a fetish. It's heady forbidden fruit combined with one of the strongest non-sexual yet intimate emotional bonds a person can have.

124) Your idea of romance bores the ever living crap out of me. Sadly, Twilight wasn't quite fucked up enough to sustain my interest. The obsession and stalking were the only high points, everything else was just meh.

142) Yeah there was that. First freaking episode, too. Torchwood are much more sympathetic bad guys than actual good guys.

147) I won't read fics that hate on characters in order to justify their otps. At best it's lazy writing, at worst it's sopaboxing of the most petty possible sort.

164) Well, she actually had a personality and got to do stuff. I really think Rowling cheated her otp by not letting Ginny do or say anything "on camera" as it were. We keep hearing second hand that she had adventures/friends/romance, but we never see any of it. As in, gee shucks, reader, if you'd only come 5 minutes earlier Ginny said something cool. Well tough luck, but take my word it happened.

166) The adults were really so much hotter than the kids. Zuko's dad, too. Wow. 100 times more sexy than Zuko.

164. Rowling was really bad about the whole "show, don't tell" thing sometimes. The whole way she dealt with the Snape/Lily/James thing was especially bad, imo. She doesn't SHOW us how the things Snape were doing to other students was bad (and worse than what James and Sirius did on a regular basis), we're just supposed to accept it is because it's "Dark Magic"--whatever the crap that means. And she doesn't SHOW us how James became a better person. Again, we're just supposed to accept it. Yeah. Not happening.

ARG how James was handled was what made me the most frustrated, especially in the latter books when Harry/Ginny is compaired to James/Lily over and over again. James was a gigantic douchebag and we never saw WHY Lily was drawn to the jerk. Not a great comparison there jkr :\

I didn't say anything about my idea of romance, just that STALKING AND OBSESSION are NOT romantic. Would you really want someone to watch you sleep and disable your car for your own good? Because those are signs of a fucking abusive relationship.

If you find the stalking and obsession interesting or entertaining, then fine, whatever, I don't have a problem with that. If you think stalking and obssession are romantic, I fear for the health of your relationships.

Oh golly OP someone needs to smack you with a Fantasy =/= reality bat. People who find fantasy stalking romantic know it isn't real and don't want to be stalked. Those who enjoy rapefic don't want to be raped and don't advocate it. Those who enjoy incest... yadda, yadda, yadda. You get the drill. Perfect realism in romance is not what everyone is after.

Those very few who can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality get hit with a cluebat sooner or later. You don't have to lecture the vast majority of us who already know.
