Mary-Sue is a real and very normal name. As a real life Mary-Sue, I must admit that I like my name. I think it's fantastic. Not only does everyone love me... I have a tragic past and my eyes change colors. :D *Sparkle.*

If you MUST pity me, then please pity me for being smoking hot and loved by all. (It's a tough life.)

Yep! Though, I will admit, I go by "Mary" a lot more often than "Mary-Sue". The names "Mary" and "Susan" float around a lot in my family though, so it's unsurprising that both of them were stuck before my last name upon my birth.

On a less sarcastic note - my name may be outdated and common, but (most) people don't have a problem spelling it and most everyone can pronounce it, so I'm rather cool with it. It's not like my parents named me "Doctor Love" or something that could have been really traumatizing. The most I was teased over it was when I went to a gay bar and "Mary" was called out to get her drinks. I've never heard so many men giggle. ;)

Yeah, there's totally worse names than something only part of the internet would get. I mean, I worked in a daycare and encountered names like Ronin, who had parents who were as white as white can be. And Per, inexplicably pronounced Pear. And kids whose names were odd mis-mashes of names stuck together, or celestial names like Andromeda.

....

So...yeah.
