How about writing them without sharing them? You can write for yourself.

I've written thousands upon thousands of words of fic that basically boiled down to "My OCs go to other fandoms and Do Cool Stuff". Go ahead and write it! There's no rule that says you have to share it with anyone ;)

Start with short pieces and see how it goes. A good imagination doesn't always translate into good writting.

Write a few down and see how you feel about them. If the magic's no longer there, you can stop writing them. I've written loads of self-indulgent stuff that's just for my eyes only and it's pretty fun, but there's also been stuff that I set to write out and then it doesn't end matching what's in my head, so I stop writing it.

I've got little stories/concepts I come up with too, either to lul me to sleep or to just have fun imagining and tbh I do sometimes write out little snippets. They're just for myself and are purely for fun, but it's enjoyable and I also find it relaxing to quickly tap-out a little something and see where I go with it.

Give it a try! You might end up having a good time and there's no pressure to share them. :)

I do something similar, OP. My mind doesn't shut off and it's my way of focusing on something benign so I can fall asleep.

This is how I started writing fanfiction. I needed to insert myself to get the characters "right" in my head and then was able to write them without me.

If I don't have stories to fantasize about, I've found my depression hits me harder. When I get stuck on new stuff, I've gone all the way back to stuff I used to watch nearly 30 years ago (hello, Days of Our Lives! Look! Isabella lives!)

Try writing one of your ideas down - you might discover that it is much harder and less fun than you imagined* or simply that there is something which does nottranslate to the page as it should, and you will know for sure if it makes any sense for you to write your stories instead of simply enjoying tehm in your head.

/*I'm not trying to be condescending - I personally found it much much harder and more time consuimg to write than to come up with ideas and scenarios.

I do similar before I fall asleep, sometimes for fun, sometimes for fics I'm writing! It's pretty relaxing.
