I have over 1000 bookmarks on AO3

I want to start going thru them and leaving comments on all the fics I've loved. Does anyone have like...a link to, "How to leave good, non shitty comments"?

Possible comments:

“This was amazing and I just had to tell you how awesome it was, thank you for writing and sharing it!”

“I loved this line” quote line you loved.

“I loved when” thing you loved happened.

“This fic made me” cry/laugh so hard I peed/stay up reading until 3am/etc.

“I loved your” writing style/unique AU setting/jokes/etc.

“Unf I’ll be in my bunk/I read your amazing meal description and now I’m hungry/I read your horror AU and I’ve been checking under the bed for monsters and sleeping with a nightlight on and a baseball bat by the bed for two days.”

“If your fic was a physical book it would’ve fallen apart from all the times I reread it.”

“I read your stories when I want to cry/laugh/forget about my problems for awhile/etc.”

I think people would appreciate attention to detail more than general flattery. Or at least I do, as it makes for a more personalized touch. I enjoy comments that quote a chunk of my story back at me with an accompanying, "This was hilarious!" or "This part made me tear up!" more than those that just tell me I'm a good writer. It creates a sense of connection with the reader when I think back to the writing process and how I came to produce that particular section they're talking about. It makes me feel good to know that scene worked for somebody in the way I perhaps did or did not intend.

So if you can take the time, try to remember what you particularly liked about each story and specifically call it out in your comment?
