NAYRT—how is platonic romance supposed to work? I always assumed that a relationship could be platonic or romantic, but not both.

not the person you replied to (but the person they replied to)

IDK, I feel like those are contradictory terms. Of course, there's "romantic friendship" which is kind of a gray area, not completely friendship or romance, but somewhere in between, but "platonic romance" doesn't make sense to me. (I guess if you think about it those terms are basically the same thing, but they're different in my brain for whatever reason.)

Not sure if this even makes any sense, I just woke up from a nap and don't feel like I'm entirely awake yet.

SA (adding more thoughts to the above)

Reading their comment again, I'm not sure about the "because friends for 6000 years" argument unless they're saying that if you've been friends with someone for a long time you're eventually going to have romantic feelings for them? That's...kind of weird, IMO. (Although of course "a long time" in human years is a totally different thing than 6000 years, and maybe I shouldn't try to compare it to humans at all.)

IDK, I'm not making any sense.
