I wish they'd just had Chris put on weight instead of the suit. :\ It's not like his contract doesn't already include body mods...

I can agree with that. I mean, it wouldn't do much to address the "fat = funny" aspect, but at least it would be a realistic-looking weight gain rather than an over-the-top "joke". On the other hand, I'm not in favor of forcing actors or actresses to go through any severe weight gain/loss for a role at all. Perhaps Hollywood could use a little damn creativity and tell a story that gets the intended characterization across without it.
