Completely understandable reaction to a favourite character dying.

I'm just the opposite, worried that Disney will try to bring him back as much as possible, whether it's in bunches of flashbacks or an AI or whatever. No hate, I just feel like it's time to move on and let other characters have their fifteen minutes.

Tbh I went into the movie low key hoping he would either die or retire definitely from superheroing. It got to a point where I was only watching Avengers and Avengers-related movies for him, so now I'm finally free.

I still wish he would have survived and just went on to live a quiet life with Pepper and Morgan, but I guess that would have the chances of him getting pulled back into the action higher.

Still, comic book deaths aren't known for being all that permanent, so who knows what'll happen.

I feel you. His ending was one of the few that I felt was done well, felt totally in character, and provided a satisfying farewell for the actor to be free to step back... but part of me doesn't care about that because I don't want him to be dead.

OP

That is absolutely where I'm at. It's kind of a weird experience for me because I tend to value good story-telling above all. But with Tony, I just love him and want him around. I'd take a weaker conclusion to his time in the MCU if it meant he wasn't dead. And it sucks because even the Iron Man movies, which are so much fun, are sad now, because every time he just barely manages to survive I know that eventually all his genius and determination and luck aren't enough to get him through.

Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out at what point between Civil War and Far From Home he decided that superheroes no longer needed any oversight... Tony's arcs are a goddamn *mess.* Maybe it's "realistic" for him to have nonlinear progress and setbacks, but narratively it's shit. The best part about his ending is that they can't further fuck it up anymore
