(Anonymous) 2019-09-29 01:21 am (UTC)(link)Also, we totally understand why people do good things. We have a harder time understanding why people do bad things. Which makes bad things more fascinating, especially if the creator(s) give us a plausible reason for it.

I'VE SEEN THE LIGHT THANK YOU NONNY FOR PUTTING IT INTO WORDS.
Ah ha I feel so stupid there's this awful-bad-but-fascinating guy in my fandom that the show's creators have literally described as "the driving force behind the whole series" but then they spoiled the effect by adding "so in a way he's the true hero" (NO HE'S NOT he's a selfish asshole with no morals) so I failed to connect just why exactly he felt so appealing. When it's so simple really!!
