Maybe I'm just old and I can't understand the young people logic. Plenty of gay and bi dudes have had sex with women and some of them have kids. It doesn't mean they don't like men ever.

The idea that Harry and Luis had to have paid beards strikes me as kind of anachronistic, and now that Harry is actively using his sexual ambiguity to promote himself among LGBTQ-friendly fans, it makes less sense.

That's not tinhat logic, though. Tinhat logic is that they ONLY and EVER loved the other half of the pairing, and any other romantic/sexual interactions they could have possibly had are FAKE and EVIL and WRONG.

See, for example, Supernatural J2 fandom, that insists Jared and Jensen have been in a gay relationship for the whole run of the show, and their wives are EVIL BEARDS (the kids are sometimes fake, sometimes what the wives wanted, sometimes J2's kids and the wives are just gestational carriers, and sometimes the wives' pregnancies are fake and someone else is carrying the kids!). And then Misha Collins (a male Misha) joined the show and he was very friendly with Jensen, so it was decided he was a "meard" (a male beard) there to throw off the gay rumours about J2 by...? ??? It just goes on and on.

Out of defence for my orientation because I see this so often on the internet and even dating apps, gay dudes dont have sex with women, those dudes are bisexual (and thats okay)

I mean, if it's dating apps, sure, I agree. But I know several gay men who were/are married to women and had children with them, mostly due to societal pressure (for example, one of them was a Mormon and being openly gay wasn't an option for him in his community).

Honestly tinhatters generally tend to piss me off. There's a political theory and practice behind outing people which doesn't apply at all to either One Direction and SPN. And trying to clock the One Direction guys as probably gay because they're young, beautiful, and not over-the-top butch is the same sort of stereotypical bullshit that got me bashed on a regular basis.
