Secret maker here, and I don't know if I was the one who made your secret but I can tell you that sometimes, people are strangely inconsistent. I've seen named users say one thing about a specific topic and then turn around a week later and contradict themselves. I don't think it's deliberate, it's just...people are strange. And yeah, maybe sleep deprived or under the weather or hangry and that absolutely influences how they react to something.

Like you, I'm in a weird position to know this because I see their reactions the first time around, then see them react again when the secrets are posted.

I agree. It might be that one person who doesn't like comment secrets trying to stir the pot though. (but this is just me making conspiracy theories)

I've wondered that myself and don't want to be paranoid. But if you're talking about that one person who announced their grand departure from FS, then... maybe. They didn't strike me as particularly reasonable because their comment was used word for word, with a non-controversial image choice that reflected the fandoms they were talking about and they STILL got angry at the secret maker for "making them look racist" or whatever.

I think it's important to remember that sometimes people just react in unpredictable ways, for many reasons.

I suppose that could be why. I think it is more likely that it was different commenters that either didn't see the comment when it was originally in GC or didn't respond to it then and maybe the commenters from the GC thread didn't respond to it because they had already responded. The Fandom Secrets community members do not hold a completely homogenous opinion on most things, from what I've observed. Plus, there are trolls and people who just like to argue for the sake of arguing.

I will say that sometimes a thread seems to get vitriolic out of nowhere and yeah, maybe they do need a Snickers then.
