I don't think it is much different from shipping live action characters or book characters. They are all fictional, they are just in a different medium then others.

Very true but there's something so distant about a drawn character than from a live human being. I can't really explain it well, sorry. It's just... different. It's easier to relate to a human than to an animation.

I don't think so, but then again I am not that visual of person, I am much more in tune with voices and hearing, I will be honest and say that often times I have more problems with live action, because their look is too set and stone and whoever is the actor could in fact cloud my judgment in ways that drawn characters just aren't.

This makes absolutely no sense to me. I don't ship characters because I personally relate to them I ship them because I like the interaction between the characters so what does it matter if it is live action, a cartoon or a book?

That might be true for you but it isn't for everyone.

What about characters from books who have no visual representations, then?

151. Actually, that's exactly why I don't particularly like shipping real, human characters. I hardly 'ship' characters at all, as I'm inclined to like anything that's well written, but I'm more interested in the romantic going-ons of drawn characters because I feel uncomfortable placing real humans into situations like that. Why? Because of the immediacy I feel with them.

Basically, I have a hard time separating 'person' from 'person playing this character,' so I prefer romance and sex between totally fictional characters with no real representations. It's just a preference.
