Silver Chair or Magician's Nephew would have been great. I actually didn't mind some of the Dawn Treader changes, though. I think the episodic nature of the book didn't lend itself well to a whole movie (BBC version did end up joining Caspian and Dawn Treader together as one movie after all). I actually was less annoyed by Dawn Treader changes than I was by some of the Caspian changes. Some Caspian changes were cool, but some of the added stuff was really unnecessary.

SA - There was a lot of stuff I really liked about Dawn Treader, to be fair. The islands themselves I thought were wonderfully done, and balancing the time with the "episodes" was done as well as could be expected. I think I'm still just really hung up on the "video game collectible" sort of plot they added? It struck me as being very similar to what was added to the Percy Jackson movie--collect the items to do the plot, rather than sticking to the Dawn Treader as essentially a rescue mission.

I think they were just trying to do something to have some sort of central plot. Maybe it wasn't the best choice of one. Probably wasn't. I just get why they wanted to have one.
