Re: Who else is enjoying watching Blizzard shoot itself in the foot?

Sure. I think, politically, the reality is that the Chinese government is an authoritarian and genocidal regime that it's impossible to support, and I certainly wish that the NBA would be more forthright in addressing that fact. At the end of the day they're a profit-driven business and everything else is always going to be secondary to that, and it's a shitty reality.

At the same time, one, I think people are vastly overstating the extent to which the NBA is actually bending to Chinese pressure. They have not fired or disciplined Daryl Morey (who tweeted the initial pro-Hong Kong tweet) that set off the controversy, and they have consistently asserted the right of Morey and other NBA people to express their views. And, in fact, the Chinese government has not been mollified by their actions and is actively cracking down on NBA broadcasts.

Two, I think a lot of the people who have been most vociferously critical of the NBA on this issue are piece of shit jackal hypocrites who have no morals or ethics, continue to support a president who has been equally unwilling to criticize China on human rights grounds, aren't concerned with China at all, and are actually mostly angry at the NBA because the NBA and NBA players openly address and support issues of racial and social equality in the United States. So those people can all fuck off. Burn in hell, Clay Travis.
