What item did you buy that you had no expectations for...

I was given it for xmas and I thought I'd never use it. It's basically the top half of a dressing gown with a hood on it. I wear it for reading in bed in the cooler months and I hate wearing anything instead of it when it's in the wash but I can't find another one that is as fluffy and oversized. I'm wearing it right now.

So a hoodie? Basically? Or...a really short, hooded robe? I'm not trying to be snarky, just trying to figure out what you mean.

I generally wear a big fleece shirt in bed in winter for when i'm sitting up with the laptop or reading.

Kind of but also not? It's more like a blanket with big sleeves and I can wrap it so that only my eyes and fingers are exposed to the air but I'm unrestricted by a clothing shape so I can change positions without it strangling me. I hate wearing actual clothes in bed and even my dressing gown may as well be a straight jacket compared to this hideous fuzzy thing.

I found it! They don't sell it in the original shop anymore.

If you like pineapples you need a pineapple corer and slicer. $10 and it will change your pineapple eating ways.

Single portion sized oven/dishwasher/freezer/microwave safe dishes with lids. I was skeptical and I thought I would break them pretty quickly going from hot food to cold freezer (fridge first!) or freezer to microwave (fridge overnight!), but I haven't broken any yet. Okay one. It was soapy and I dropped it.

I can make six serves of lasagne at once and freeze 4, put one in the fridge for tomorrow, and eat one for dinner tonight. I use the baby food portion size ones for freezing sauces. I don't like to cook every day and this is so much easier.

The cheap little carrot toy I bought for my cat that has turned out to be her favorite toy. She has so many toys, but that one along with the stick toy remains her favorites for some reason. She's a creature of habit. The carrot for rolling on the ground and the stick for jumping and acrobatics.

Of course, she's not big on any of the high-tech toys I bought. Because of course not. Will have to hope she can handle replacements when her favorite ones finally fall apart.

The other thing that I've gotten so much use out of is the fountain. I wasn't expecting much honestly. Just wanted to try something to get her to drink more. But she loves that thing so much. She doesn't just drink out of it. She watches it. She paws at the running water at the top sometimes. Best money I spent on her, hands down.
