Clothes washer in the kitchen. Sure, it makes sense plumbing-wise, but I really don't want to be hauling my clothing around where I'm cooking. I'd rather have the laundry area separate by some small degree (and a space to fold clothes would be nice).

My friend lives in a one bedroom apartment and her washer and dryer are in a little closet space in the bedroom. I thought it was s cool idea until something happened to the washer and her bedroom got flooded.

Ack!! Always a possibility. I like a washer and dryer to be in a sort of neutral area between the two. Just a little niche somewhere.....

I checked out an apartment that had the stackable washer/dryer in the bathroom, so... when it comes to the smells that potentially linger in your fabric, it could be worse?

Heh.

All bathrooms should come with a window to the outside. Light and air - they all need it.

I hate bathroom windows. I always worry someone might see in.

Well, if you're on the ground floor, they make tons of cling film that's frosted or whatever to prevent that. Up on the second floor and higher...you're good!

My current bathroom has no window. I will never voluntarily live in another place like this. It is gross. When I moved in the fan didn't even work.

Washing machines belong in the basement as God intended.

I live in a place where it never freezes or snows but hardly anyone has a basement because earthquakes, and around here I think the best place for washers, dryers, and water heaters is outside on a covered porch, especially for gas water heaters and dryers.

Bwaaaahahahha! Yup, that's where mine is.
I just wish i had a laundry chute. Every time i have to clump downstairs with a laundry basket, the cats go nuts like we're going to this new, unexplored fairyland (though their litter boxes are down there, too), and run down the stairs under my feet.

I shall die by cat, and they'll find me at the bottom of the stairs, surrounded by dirty laundry.
