re: Trish-- to be completely fair, she didn't know who he actually was, so her comment wasn't super out of line. That aside, though, this has always been a group of total assholes who are all assholes to each other all the time, like any good family, LMAO.

For me, the question I was left with was like... I don’t understand how he went from “I need the sword Sparda so Nero can kill [my demon half]” to WELL WE’RE TOGETHER AGAIN BETTER JOIN UP AND REVIVE VERGIL :D It really felt like a few of the steps were missing, idk. Though I suppose DMC has always been a little quick and dirty with its plot.

Ah, and don't get me wrong, slashy V is all well and good too! V is very versatile, lmao. Top, bottom, slash, het, it all works for me. But he'd look really good totally wrecked~ Nero'd do a good job of it /SHOT

That was likely what got me. She, Lady, Dante and Morrison are family - and are bitchy family at that...but V confessed who and what he was to her - and she stomped him. They could have really explained that better. I want to see what happened the month Dante was not there. What was Nero doing? What was V doing? I guess Trish's reaction could have been discomfort, but they didn't really highlight that well. But then, they never really have done her character that much justice and my anger was rather knee-jerk. Sometimes I guess she forgets she is stuck with their mother's face. Wonder if that ever bugs her?

What really got me is that V reacts to the others, but quietly. That half-smile and chuckle, before abruptly finding someplace else to be when they notice him. He wears their suspicion like a comfortable old (wearying) cloak - and it hurts my heart and only makes them more suspicious. I can't blame them. He feels OFF to them and he is NOT part of their group - and he makes no move to TRY to be. Griffon did that for him in a way - but with how fast he spilled to Trish, I can kind of understand WHY he doesn't want to be around them. But he did play that last bit close to the vest!

I think that motive can be explained by Vergil's bitterness towards Dante and his 'newly' made family. V carries those memories. Watched them interact. And as he grows weaker, he sees he cannot live without his other half. He will be lost, but not completely. But maybe it was a weird form of suicide. He didn't want the very human pain of weakness, of separation from all that should have mattered anymore. No one was listening, asking questions, reacting to him. He was a ghost. And if onl Dante had never been...but that isn't fair either, is it? He loved his brother. He learned more about his brother and his family than I'm sure he wanted to know. And they would never be brothers again. Dante had moved on. As a complete human (with his life force draining away), that would hurt. Why not re-merge with the familiar, with the armor of his demon form. Truly one cannot live without the other.

That could have been the plan all along, you know. He just needed Dante to whittle his demon self down so he could be reunited -

Or maybe it was just a way to wipe it all away. It would suck to be so completely human and within reach, but never there. Becoming Vergil again would give him back his hate, his fire. The demon found a way to attain power that may have prevented the 'prophesied' fight between him and Dante for a little while longer. He was weak. He attributed it to the prophesy of the ultimate fight between the twins - and maybe the plan was an alternative to that fight. Only Vergil knew - but a 'complete' Vergil only knows pain, bitterness, rage, betrayal and loss. A stronger one should be able to defeat his brother - once he is whole again. Remember, only a demon could make that 'tree of life'. So whether it was a plan V didn't plan on following through (until the last minute), it was a plan he devised when he was separated and ALWAYS wanted to follow through on - or a last minute, last ditch desperate way to stop being so damned HUMAN...well, I see them as leaving that to the fans to determine. V's motives were always sketchy...but his very human pain was easy to see. I just...felt for Griffon, Shadow and Nightmare as well. They were tossed aside. Even if not deliberate, it just felt like V 'dying' all over again. Ach. My heart, dammit!

Soooo many possibilities.

And ye GODS, I can ramble!

He WOULD... That man looks like he was made for disheveled, sweaty and out of breath. And hooooowww did you know? (I was thinking more of a Nero or Dante look-alike, with a wall, in an alley, during the missing month...maybe more than once. Almost a love-hate sex thing. See where I am awful?? I hope to never stop. *grins*)
