What an annoying position to take. It's naive and betrays your prejudices if you honestly believe that a good character can't be as morally complex as a villainous one, or that all good characters amount to being "nice, clean and harmless." And what exactly is wrong or boring about "nice, clean and harmless?" I've seen plenty of characters who are interesting by virtue of being comparitively weak/boring (Neville Longbottom, anyone? Allen Ridgeley? Arthur Dent? Sean of Sean of the Dead?)

I'm not saying that nice characters can't be awesome! That was just in response to the OP who seems to think that nice characters are the only ones who can be awesome and that people who like villains are somehow morally impaired^^

I agree with you that there can be very complex nice characters! I just said it would be boring if we all liked the same characters, nice or not. Ii'd be boring if we all liked the villains as well ;-)

Basically I was just annoyed that the OP made it sounds as if we're somehow not "allowed" to like characters just because they're not perfect.
