A lot of it is in wildly bad faith, which is frustrating.

How so?

Selective outrage. Ignoring companies or politicians that you like who deal with China while criticizing others.

DA

Sometimes it's funny. I know a guy who's real mad at ActiBlizz but fervently defending Apple. Comparatively, Apple is far worse

while that's very true, tbf there is a distinct difference between a company or individual passively supporting the authoritarian acts of china through engaging in business with them and listening to requests from the chinese government to change content, and a company actively supporting the authoritarian acts of china through suppressing and apologizing for criticism of the chinese government against the HK protesters such as Blizzard or the NBA

What the NBA did, as an organization, was issue a "sorry if you were offended" non-apology while refusing to fire or punish anyone for expressing their opinion. The Chinese government is still mad at them, their broadcasts are still suspended in China, and they're losing tons of money because of it. Individual players have said dumb things caping for the Chinese government so get mad at Lebron or Harden if you want but IDK what you want the NBA as an organization to do about that.

It's a completely different situation from Blizzard.
