It's just typical CW parent casting.

Huh?

Um. He’s 51. She’s 22. How are you getting that he’s only 18 years older than her?

He does look very young for his age, I’ll give you that. But honestly, he's not even as uncannily young looking as plenty of the tv moms out there.

Yeah I had math issues when I looked them up on IMDB. XD

Seeing Scott Wolf referred to as "the actor playing [the dad]" is just making me feel really old. That's pretty much all I have to say.

I never watched Party of Five okay!

I saw this as a comment secret last week so only just learned seconds ago OP is talking about Scott Wolf. I'm in shock

Well, he definitely doesn't look his actual age of 51.

Which is almost 28 years older than the actress playing Nancy Drew, so I'm going to assume that 18 is a typo. And maybe not even 41, but I would say he at least looks like he's in his thirties and since she's supposed to be 18 (though she does look a bit older), I feel like that should still be fine

Whatever the actual age difference is, I didn't think he looked old enough to be her dad. She looks too mature to be just post high school (?) and he looks younger than his age.

OP here and same. It's also (to me) not just physical looks, but I just don't get this air of father/daughter (whether it's because Nancy's actress is acting older or what, I'm not sure).

Agreed.

I was laughing at CW casting when The Flash first started, I tried watching Batwoman not too long ago and I still am. Half of them are pageant contestants, the other half are ridiculously over done. The CW is just the new word for soap opera to me.
