Yeah. Pretty realistic ending, actually. It's surprising how quickly people forget after they're so relieved the Bad Thing is over. They often don't finish the job of fixing the problem, opting for quick, PR friendly bandaids...and then they're shocked when the wound has just been festering underneath the whole time.
