Head exploding, OP!

There's a podcast that's right now covering the Spiritualist movement called "Unobscured": https://historyunobscured.com/

Aaron Mahnke (the guy who's known more for "Lore") is doing the podcast. His first season on the Salem Witch Trials was absolutely outstanding. I'm from the area so I knew a lot of the history he got into for the Salem Witch Trials, but I had never quite put it together the way he (and the historians he interviewed) did.

So far, the new season isn't grabbing me as much, but that's probably because I know so little about Spiritualism (although I've been to a Spiritualist church once...yeah...they're still around and they still have churches). What's fascinating is that the Spiritualists in the early days were heavily tied up with Quakers and the abolitionist movement which...okay...that kind of made my head spin. So I'm sticking with the podcast because it's a feast of TIL.

But, IA on there needing to be a move about the Fox Sisters. It's definitely an unmined corner of history.

OP

Oh man, I'm a HUGE fan of Unobscured. I learned about the Fox sisters a few years ago but then they showed up on an episode of Lore and now Unobscured is basically a dream come true for me, because Spiritualism in general is one of my favorite lesser-known subjects. (It blew my mind when I first discovered it if only for the fact that it was so associated with Christianity, when nowadays some of the remnants like Seances and Mediums are almost always portrayed as silly New-Agers or Evil Satanists.)

I agree season 1 was fantastic (seriously, I thought I knew all there was to know about Salem but I WAS SO WRONG), and when I heard the subject for season 2 I practically went giddy!
