Yeah, people criticizing this somehow entirely missed the point of Sesame Street and similar children's programming, e.g. Mr. Rogers. I hate the term edutainment, but it applies, and education isn't just about learning how to spell and count.

But also yeah, it's depressing that this is a useful and relevant character for kids today.
