What, if anything, does a person’s favorite Disney princess say about them in your eyes? Brought to you by my sister, the badass feminist 90s kid, and me, the 3-year-old girl.

Nothing. Nothing at all. (no sarcasm, honestly)

My favourite princess is Aurora strictly because I think her character design/the movie is beautiful (if lacking in plot and character).

I can't say she's a favorite, but Sleeping Beauty is in my top favorite 5 Disney animated movies. I watched that one over and over as a kid, and I still love it.

Nothing other than their taste in media maybe.

I think I'd have to know someone very well to even begin to speculate on what their favorite disney princess says about them. Besides, maybe, how old they are.

It seems likely that people whose favorite princesses are from the early 90s are probably older millenials. I doubt there are a lot of 15-year-olds who prefer Ariel to some of the new princesses. But I could be wrong about that.

I think there are things to relate to and admire in most of the disney princesses?

I guess if a person has a specific reason why that princess is their favourite, beyond just 'I like her best', then that might say something about them, but just *who* their favourite is? Not really.

That by admission, they are ordering me to ridicule them :D

Nah, it just says they have a favorite Disney princess. I suppose if I thought about it long enough, I might assign certain attributes to them based on the Disney princess, but sometimes people just like who they aren't, or like what they like, no statement needed.

Just that they like a Disney princess. I have personal reasons for liking Mulan and Elsa, but somebody would have to know me very well to come to the conclusion that I like them for ____ reasons. If somebody told me they liked Belle or Moana, I would just think they like those characters.

Probably just like, the aesthetic they like the most, or the Disney movie they watched first or had on VHS and watched over and over again, so like Jasmine and Belle for me with Mulan as a strong third b/c how can you hate Mulan?

(Anonymous) 2019-10-26 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
I think it just leads me a little to their aesthetic. Like a fan of Ariel tends to have a more beachy/hipster aesthetic, Mulan fans tend to have a balanced masculine/feminine aesthetic, etc.
