104. I did once! Sort of. I have a character who looked and acted like (and MET) Oscar Wilde, who dated um... well, Draco Malfoy, but you must admit, there's not ultimately much difference... (Said character also boinked Robbie Ross. Bonus!)

...Dude, I wouldn't call Draco more intelligent than Bosie, though. Draco's greatest feat of wit was "Weasley is our King." Bosie wins for brains if only on the creativity level. Otherwise, I'd say they're about equally matched...

Well, I believe that his dad states that his grades are second best to Hermione's in Chamber of Secrets somewhere, so I think that indicates some level on intelligence, although it's nowhere to be seen in his behavior.

Which character is that, pray tell?

If you write Oscar Wilde fanfiction, please supply me with links, PLEASE! I'd love to write some myself. And Wilde/HP crossover sounds...well...like it ought to happen sometime, if it hasn't already...

The Wilde stand-in is Miniver Cheevy. He ended up the way he did largely because I really WANTED to play Oscar, but the game I was in had Oscar on permanent reserve because a major character had backstory with him or something and the mun didn't want him in-game. Miniver is an American poet and musician of Irish decent from the 1960's who happens to look startlingly like Oscar -- because the guy I picked to be his face in his icons does too.

However, someone DID bring Robbie Ross into the game, and he became good friends with Miniver, and even took Miniver back to his world to have dinner with the Wildes, who noticed immediately his physical resemblance to Oscar. Miniver's relationship with Draco played out in a kind of twisted parallel to Oscar and Bosie too -- Draco ultimately left him quite broken and without a cent to his name.

I could link you to some old threads if you want, but I don't know how interesting they'd be to an outside reader. Draco's player is absolutely fantastic, though. One of the hardest things to write in an RP setting is a character who is consistently cruel and cowardly, especially when the people getting the brunt of his misbehavior are characters who are sympathetic in the same way kicked puppies are sympathetic to the audience and players...
