114 FLCL is the only Gainax work that really left an emotional impression me whatsoever. Everytime I listen to certain pillows songs I get goosebumps. My only wish is for something that I make to someday have the same impression on other people.

Yes, I've watched the show. I suffered through the pilot when it first aired, no less. I don't find anything redeeming about it. Random violence is not funny. Violence is standard in American cartoons, yes, but it's usually accompanied by something else that makes it funny, nameless, humorous jokes, or compelling personalities. Furthermore, just because something has wonderful animation, that does not mean that it's a great cartoon overall. Yes, Superjail is well animated. But it just looks like a bunch of drawings that an 8th grader made come to life. Or a moving tattoo. This doesn't impress me.

At least Beavis and Butthead was a commentary about American youth in the 90s, the "MTV generation" or what have you. Superjail doesn't really say anything. I've not once laughed at that show. So yeah, in a nutshell that's basically why I consider it a piece of shit.

The show isn't just lolviolence, as many episodes are centered around the characters with little emphasis on violence. I didn't particularly like the pilot but the show's humor and writing improves as it goes along. The art style isn't anything to write home about but the fact that it's all done in-house and entirely in Flash is what makes it unique. Also, the fact that it's really "cartoony" is appealing to many.

So yeah, Superjail is quirky eye candy. Then again, it is on [as] and [as] isn't known for it's DEEP entertainment. (Anime and the recent season of Moral Orel aside)
