I've gravitated toward villainous characters basically my whole life so you sound normal to me on that score.

But I think what you're saying is that there's not really any villains and therefore villain ships in the MCU grabbing you the same way? I kinda get that. There's only about 3-4 MCU villains who get a decent level of character development and a couple of those dance the morally grey/anti-hero line. Then there are others where it's an interesting idea but not enough screen time. And then there are the ones that are just kinda there to serve the plot, usually by being a mirror of the hero or a way of moving things forward.

But it's an overall problem with the MCU that extensive well-thought character development is reserved for a couple of characters. Even the other heroes suffer because of that.

This was a comment secret based on my comment. What I personally meant was that with the MCU my favorite characters aren't villains. I still like some of the villains. They just aren't my top favorite characters the way they would be in other fandoms.

Ah ok I'm with you now!

It happens to me too. There are some things where I also prefer one or some of the heroic characters. I'd still say I'm mostly for villains/not so good characters overall though.

And the few interesting "villain" characters (Nebula and M'Baku) either became heroes or weren't actually villains, just adversaries.

Killmonger was pretty great, though.

Killmonger was great but felt like another MCU waste in that they killed him. I get that narratively there wasn't much else they could do with the way things played out. But it still felt a bit like "hang on, why did you do that?"

I also didn't like that they killed Klaue in the same film even though he's a small-doses character.

I'm not invested in the MCU but Killmonger was hot and interesting.
