got back from the neighborhood Halloween event I described yesterday, it was fun.

Carved a pumpkin, had an emergency when my tiny Maglite decided its battery was dead and I was out of AAA batteries and resorted to using my ancient Mini-Maglite which is actually fairly large but kind of dim because of the incandescent bulb for the jack-o-lantern, now I'm passing out candy to kids who braved the pouring rain. I'll probably pack it in at 7:00.

Still sick. Survived working the Halloween carnival, hopefully didn’t pass the plague on to anyone. Currently home on the couch surrounded by piles of used tissues and feeling awful.

I went to work for a few hours, where there was a pumpkin-carving contest. (I work in a group home.) It actually went really well and everybody seemed happy. I have the rest of the weekend off but I need to do laundry and a bunch of other stuff.

I did another load of laundry, am finishing up the first season of Tin Star on Amazon Prime, and still mourning the death of a thirty-year friendship.
