You've put it in a much more detailed way why I was a little lukewarm on how it all ended!

I think nothing typifies the fate/faith thing kind of putting a downer on my enjoyment more than the conclusion of Starbuck's arc. I was a little annoyed that such an interesting take on that character got the whole "I fulfilled my purpose and now I'm going to ambiguously fade out" thing as an ending.

I majorly shipped Kara/Sam, so I didn't mind it. TBH I would have been more annoyed if she and Lee had ended up together at the end. I know this is my shipper brain talking, but it wouldn't have felt right for her character to get that kind of ending. TBH even a happy ending with Sam wouldn't have worked for me.

AYRT - Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of Kara's ending either. Though I'm not sure what I would've liked more, because it's hard to picture a happy ending for her. But I think she should've gone out with a bang. That's just who she is - half crazy, unrestrained, a total bamf.

Plus, I think my feeling about Kara's ending were exacerbated by my feelings about Roslyn's ending. They are two of my all-time favorite female characters and they were truly incredibly written characters who were so strong in such real ways and so active and always fighting tooth and nail for humanity in their own distinct ways. But in the end they both kind of fade away, which...I don't love. I'm not arguing that their endings were sexist. Both endings were perfectly reasonable given everything that came before. But to have them both go out with a sigh or a whimper was just...yeah, not my favorite thing.

what really upset me was that apparently Roslin wasn't even meant to die in the end, but Mary McDonnell said that was how she felt the character should go. I love Mary, she's portrayed some of my fave characters, but after she AGAIN campaigned for her character in a different tv show to die, I'm just really exasperated and wish she would stay out of dictating her character end because it HURTS me. the show is ending, why do this. I remember watching the BSG finale in absolute tears, sobbing my heart out, and I can never watch it again because I was so upset, lol
