Had to call the cops on my new neighbors. Went on a walk after work. I was on my street but on the opposite side from my house. I was about to cross over to walk to the drive way and see this large dog. It was barking at me and running loose, but whatever. Dogs do that all the time.

So, I ignore it but as I am walking up the street, it is following me on the opposite side. When I get to about my driveway, I start to cross. This dog RUNS up on me barking and growling so I go back to where I was. Every time I try to cross it started running up at me like it was going to bite.

So I am just standing there and it is barking at me and won't let me pass. I heard someone yelling for it but it won't go because it is stopping me. The ONLY reason it left was because because my BIL pulled up and chased it off with his car.

Well, my BIL apparently met that dog this morning. When he went to start his car to warm it up, it was hiding behind it and snapped at him. He was like, "Thank god SJ (my nephew) wasn't with me." So, called the cops to report and aggressive dog.

They said if we see it loose again (the neighbors called it into their house) to call them. They asked if I could go talk to the neighbors but I am 80% sure they are tweakers. So that will be a no go.

Holy shit that sounds horrible! Especially since there's probably going to be trick or treaters out tonight! Dog's off leashes are illegal where I live, and while there are a few excited animals (who the owners always assure 'they're perfectly safe, they just love people' never mind that the dog is running up to a complete stranger!) never anything like that!
I hope they get their act together, both for you and the poor dog!

Yeah, it is illegal to have dogs off leash here as well. But they have to catch the dog loose. I think they will send animal control out tomorrow to see if the dog is out.

Oh shit, well hopefully they'll catch them doing that! Is it possible to take stealth pictures from where you live to show the control when they show up/if your neighbours do it again?

Irresponsible pet owners suck ass. And they're usually the ones to get offended when they can't be bothered to train/crate/leash/house/properly care for their pet.
