I have only read the original Star Wars book and Splinter of the Mind's Eye, but....i'm thinking i should read these.

You are missing out. There are some really great Star Wars books. I also recommend the Revenge of the Sith novelization. It really improves on the movie in all the right ways.

I don't like the majority of the SW movies, so I probably wouldn't go crazy, but a couple would be cool. :D
