Redheads are "more likely to be bullied", a researcher has claimed. [...] Psychology undergraduate Kevin O'Regan [...] who has red hair
Off to a good start.

Okay, so reading the article, there are none of the things I actually asked about, but a lot of 'One person said someone was mean to them', which... I don't know if you've interacted with other human beings lately, but there's a lot of dickheads out there.
Also, for this study to actually mean anything, they'd need to compare it to people being bullied over their race, weight, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, or physical deformity. You see, in a shocking twist, most people get bullied in school; and most people who've spent time in pubs have had a random drunk shout bullshit at them. It's not particularly special, even if they're shouting 'Up yours ginger' instead of 'Up yours n*****'.
Oh, but not to diminish their suffering! I'm sure that African-American 10-year-old girl who got shot in the face when the police who'd just kicked down her door thought her Wii controller was a gun would be very sympathetic! :)

That is more of the same. Bullying. Even that first one didn't actually look like he was targeted for being redheaded. Some assholes said something to his GF, had he ignored them, they would have done nothing to him.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
So now we’re victim blaming too.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
If you want some people to agree with you, I can direct you to some subreddits? the_donald will be really happy to chat with you about how oppressed white people are.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
What next, are you going to say gay people or Jewish people aren’t oppressed if they’re white?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Both of those groups have had ACTUAL government oppression against them. What government has made it illegal for redheads to get married? Have jobs? Rent in a certain neighbor hood?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
So you admit certain white people can be oppressed?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. Now tell me about the government laws to oppress redheads.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
You were the one who said it only counts if it’s government persecution.

And are we going to pretend antisemitism is gone now that it’s no longer part of the law?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Systemic oppression lasts beyond the laws themselves. It's literally a generational problem.

There is not and has never been systemic/governmental persecution of redheads.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
And now we're going in circles. None of that is systemic persecution. Shitty behavior and bullying, yes. Oppression, no.

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Why does it have to be systemic to count, if they’re being attacked and forced to move?
