low level bass beat going on from some car or house in the neighborhood that's just quit enough that the cops would laugh if you called in a noise complaint. fun fact, earplugs are designed to cut high frequencies while still allowing the low bass frequencies to get through, so putting in earplugs when some douchenozzle down the street is sitting outside his shitty 1996 Cadillac with some rap beat cued to play on repeat for two hours is not a solution.
