AUGH!

Even when I think something is done badly, that doesn't mean other people don't find value in it. Romance is especially subjective on this point, so I'd never try to say anyone was wrong for liking the couple for whatever reasons they chose. (Hell, it could be because their hair looks lovely together for all I care!)

Like I said in the beginning, I don't think Nia/Simon is emotionally resonant like a "good" romance is, but that's a private opinion. What matters in the end is that it works for you.

I've definitely seen some floating around, though the majority of that may have been for kink memes and the like...
I'll search through my DN fic bookmarks for a bit, but since that folder is JESUS CHRIST ENORMOUS, don't hold your breath :D

Sir Apropos of Nothing! Oh, yeah!

Newtype magazine started as a fanzine devoted strictly to Gundam (hence the name). Mecha anime in general took a drastically different direction after Gundam came out. Mecha anime was pretty much exclusively devoted to super robot shows before Gundam came around.

I think it's hard for a lot of people to watch because the characterization is subtle and you have to really think about the character relationships in the show. Also there's a lot of novels and OVAs that fill in the story that people don't bother with, either, but they should. (I think everyone should watch Gundam 0080, mecha fan or not.)

I agree. Even though the original Gundam is still pretty much a space opera it was a hell of a lot more realistic than that, even with the whole "Newtypes" subplot.

Sadly, I can't be too sure that this is a troll, after hearing, you know, the people at McCain's rallies "booing" when Obama's name is mentioned and shouting "KILL HIM!" I wouldn't put it past people, at this point, especially with the Republicans pushing the racism and "OMG HE'S A TERRORIST!" cards.
