Hm. One criticism I can see for both new games is that they're a lot easier than the old ones.

I'm familiar with Pokemon, at least the early seasons/games, but not so much Sonic. How are they similar? I know there are humans in Sonic, (sometimes?) but they don't like own the hedgehogs as pets do they?

It's not so much the premise of the games that's similar, it's the criticisms that can be levelled at them. I elaborated on some when I first made the comment, but my chief comparison is pretty much "crowding out old ideas with new ones for lack of confidence in those new ideas".

ayrt
Alright I get that. Part of the reason I fell behind on Pokemon so much was partly because of those reasons.

Pokemon has so much more variety.
