Is this a podcast? What's it about even?

You could probably Google it and find out.

Yes, but I don't actually care enough to do it. I figured since one or two people seem to like it on here, they might actually be happy to talk about it.

I mean, that's how conversation anywhere but on the internet works.

Oh, I see you're into the thing. I'll ask you to tell me about it, thus allowing you a way into the conversation, to feel proud and confident that you know about the topic. I may do this even if I know the answer or could find out in a matter of minutes, because sometimes learning the actual answer wasn't the real point. The point was trying to get to know someone, maybe to get their personal perspective on the topic. As you explain, I'll ask more questions, and the conversation will drift into other areas and soon we could be sort of friends. At the very least, we'll both feel as though we made some sort of goddamn human connection for a few minutes.

And before anyone says "well, a stranger doesn't owe you answers or conversation". No, not at the bus stop or in the supermarket. But on a forum where people are coming to talk to other people on purpose, and someone has brought up a specific topic, and people are still somehow oblivious to the concept of a conversation starter?

Someone's trying to socialize, not sneak the answers to their homework. They're not always being stupid or lazy, they're trying to get a conversation going. Asking the person right in front of them is part of the point of bothering to interact with other humans instead of just like, quietly Googling everything ever.

It would have taken you as long to Google it as it would for them to just like, tell you in a couple of simple sentences. About as much time as it took for them to tell you to Google it.

Actually, it took me longer to write that reply than it would have taken them to just answer your question.
