Should I watch this? I vaguely remember hearing about it when it started but don't know anything about it.

It's a soap opera with court room drama. If that sounds like your thing, then go for it. It's fun! But if you're not a soaps person idk how much you'd enjoy it. It's pretty ridiculous

I gave up during s2. I thought it relied too much on twists and shock factor and was pretty thin on actual story.

The music was always good, though.

Disagree with the person above me, I don't find it to be very soap opera-ish at all. I mean, there's drama for sure, and there's lots of twists, but...for me personally, I feel like it's a step above soap opera. The plot is definitely kind of ridiculous at times, but for me it's all about the characters. It gets better in the later seasons, at least IMO, as more connections and history between various characters is revealed, and they're all deeply screwed up in various ways. It's...darker/more psychological than most soap operas, I guess? I mean, it's on regular TV so it's obviously not as twisted as it could be on cable or something, but there's more depth to it than it appears. Like, on the surface it's kind of just a mystery/legal show that doesn't seem like anything special, but the characters and their relationships really make it much more complex, IMO.

+1 Perfectly sums up my thoughts on this show as well :).

.........have you

have you ever watched a soap opera? because that is exactly what you described. they are also all about the characters and their relationships

I think the acting is more modern and the writing is tighter for each season, but it's DEFINITELY a soap opera.

I barely slogged through season one and quit halfway through season two. I can only watch people behave like complete morons for so long and then i'm done. Even when the lead was awesome, and her co-lead (or whatever it's called) is PARIS from Gilmore Girls (I adored that character/the actor).

But....gah. It's just a grind.
