What TV shows have you watched the most?

(Anonymous) 2019-11-08 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you watch random episodes or from start to finish (or at least 5-6 episodes of certain seasons or story lines)?

Doctor Who, Babylon 5, Legend of the Seeker, Buffy, Criminal Minds, Star Trek:DS9 and Voyager, Stargate: SG1.

I binge watch from start to finish most of the time. occasionally I'll watch a favorite episode. But mostly I binge watch. I will skip episodes I don't like, though.

I think Xena and Northern Exposure are the only dramas I rewatch random episodes of.

But I watch random episodes from sitcoms like Black Books all the time. I guess it's because most of the TV shows I watch these days are serialised, so you can't really pick an episode out of context.

The Twilight Zone. I will throw a random episode on whenever I need background noise. Great British Bake Off is the same way.

Bob's Burgers for sure. It's easy to pick an episode at random to have on while I do chores or to just turn off my brain for a while after work.

The Closer, M*A*S*H, WKRP, Call the Midwife, Supernatural, Buffy, Major Crimes.... probably a few others.

I usually binge-watch a season if I'm in the mood, otherwise i hop around to favorite episodes.

MST3K, House (first three seasons when it was still good), Star Trek Next Gen, Monty Python, Jeeves and Wooster, Boardwalk Empire, A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Great British Bakeoff (up until they changed hosts), Trailer Park Boys, Archer, Martin Scorcese Blues documentary, Rick and Morty and there's probably some more I'm not thinking of.

Buffy and DS9. Start to finish at least a dozen times each over the years. (There are a few eps in each show I'm not that fond of, but I'll still just let it autoplay and only pay an eighth attention).

X-Files. I mostly just watch specific episodes at this point though, because a lot of the show is uhhhhh bad.

I don’t rewatch things like I used to. When I was a teen I watched every episode of Buffy at least three times, most I probably saw four or five times, and I watched my favorite episodes like ten or twelve times, easy.

I also watched seasons 1 - 7 of The X-Files three times. I only watched S8 and S9 once though.

But these days I don’t rewatch TV shows all that often. If I watch a show twice it’s usually because I’ve found someone who hasn’t seen it to watch it with me.

Star Trek, MASH, Nirvana on Fire, Zorro. I tend to rewatch almost the whole thing skipping the places I don't like.

Weekend Plans?

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2019-11-08 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
What is everyone doing this weekend?

It will be surprisingly warm, so I am going to spend Saturday going on walks to do some of these PoGO quests. I am also going to try and figure out how to make my room less cold. My sister has also been bugging me about trying WoW again but I don't think I can justify dropping money on that after financing $8000 to get a new furnace/AC.

I have a conference tomorrow, but after that, no real plans. Would like to do some cleaning but we'll see how lazy I get.

Still mostly taking it easy. Sleeping lots. Watching Whose Line. Putting some music on my Ipod. Playing with my kitty. If I have it in me, doing some laundry.

I have washed all my laundry and my outfit I need for the family gathering next weekend, so I will be catching up on sleep, hoping that all my sneezing doesn't lead to a cold, reading books, and calling my doctor to set up a visit for my flu shot!

I hope you enjoy your walks and capture lots of Pokemon—if that’s the goal, anyway; I know basically nothing about the games. And after spending that much on a furnace and AC it seems like your room should be whatever temperature you want!

I’ll be doing dishes, laundry, housecleaning, and gardening, when I’m not attempting to better predator proof my chicken run. Something (probably raccoons, little bastards) killed and ate one of my hens last night before I got home from work, so I left work early tonight so I can put the other hens away before the raccoons wake up after dark.

Not much. Going to try to write as much as I can. Design some Xmas invitations for my work Xmas party. Otherwise - not much! Supposed to be icy rain and 'wintry mix' on Monday, joy.

Every year at this time my family does a weekend trip to this small town several hours away to just hang out, shop and eat at this awesome local restaurant they have. We're leaving super early tomorrow morning and I still have to finish packing and get stuff ready for work next week because I won't be home until pretty late Sunday and I have to work early on Monday. I only got a couple hours of sleep last night, though, so I want to go to bed. Guess I should probably get off the computer and go do what I need to do so I can sleep. :P

Possibly attempting to machine quilt a huge quilt.

P.S. If your sister wants a WoW-like game you can play together, I'd suggest Rift. Free to play, nice character designs, and you can play together no matter which faction you choose.

My new pots should be arriving tomorrow so I'll be repotting plants and then cooing over them. ;3; Also finally playing some of the Steam games I've collected over the years.

Yikes! That's a lot (although I honestly don't know what a new furnace costs and hope I don't have to find out for a while.) Why does the AC need to be replaced, too?

This weekend, I will probably go buy a second dehumidifier because while I initially thought shrink-wrapping the windows would keep condensation off of them in winter, now I'm just getting condensation on the plastic (although at least I don't have to worry about the woodwork and it probably won't turn to frost on the shrink wrap). The perils of owning an aquatic turtle: you have a vat of warm water sitting there, evaporating. I might also go to the library because I have a hankering to re-watch some of the Doctor Who season with Donna. It's supposed to warm up a bit, so I will try to take a walk or something. It's too snowy and wet to really do anything outside (too bad the closest branch library with DW S4 is too far to walk, but I may walk to the one that's close anyway just to have somewhere to walk to.)

Hopefully buying a bed. I mean really committing to doing it and getting it within a couple of weeks. I've been trying these last few months but had a bad experience with an online company. (I gave up after it was obvious their communications skills are lacking, or they have a bad habit of outsourcing labor to companies that don't care.) I found a place that sells beds locally, but I was worried about repeating the experience of two years ago, where I really liked a bed in a store, tried it out in 2-3 visits, brought it home, and then never got one good night's sleep on it.

Well, I really, really dig the bed I tried out in the store this time. It was my second time there, and after checking my budget, I will be able to afford it. It is a much different bed, though there aren't a ton of reviews for it online, but the ones who did get it seem to like it. The salesperson is very nice too, with a very high satisfaction rate. I really, really want this to work out for me too. Sciatica is becoming a new normal for me and I don't like it, but I at least want to be able to heal and have quality sleep.
